OVERVIEW Crestron is seeking an experienced electronics engineer to join its Failure Analysis Engineering team in our state-of-the-art facility in Orangeburg, NY. The FAE team ensures that Crestron's products exceed customer's expectations for performance, robustness, and reliability through deep analysis of potential failure modes; analysis of field returns; evaluation of electrical, thermal, and mechanical characteristics of circuits, components, sub-components, and systems; and assessment of manufacturing processes and workmanship for faults and improvement. The talented contributor will enjoy driving product improvement by collaborating closely with all engineering organizations throughout the company to foster influential changes that make meaningful improvements to Crestron's portfolio of products. This is a highly technical, hands on position focused on hardware issues and will draw on extensive engineering experience working with microprocessors, FPGAs, memory (RAM, Flash, and EEPROM), I/O, and common communication interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, SPI, HDMI, and others. Individual must have the ability to interpret schematics, layout, and analyze complex electronic designs. Recent design experience in this area and/or extensive failure analysis experience with complex hardware is a must. years of experience working in challenging electronics engineering role with a bachelor's or master's degree in electronics engineering. RESPONSIBILITIES Use the latest tools and techniques to uncover system level, firmware, and other hardware design flaws and complex product issues. Onboard new methods, techniques, equipment, and processes that will increase the diagnostic and analytical capabilities of Failure Analysis Engineering team. Be the representative and liaison of the failure analysis team and collaborate with engineering, project managers, service teams, management, and other groups across the company. Ensure projects are completed on time and to high standards of quality. Other related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS BS or MS degree in Electronics Engineering from an accredited university. 6
years experience working in a hardware design role and/or advanced failure analysis role. Experience in DSPs, microcontrollers, memory, and programmable logic devices. Experience in communication busses (CAN, Ethernet, RS-485, USB, SPI, I2C, I2S, MII, and other). Expertise in troubleshooting system level issues that involve Audio, Video, RF, motors, thermal, power, and other. Understanding of schematics, layout, and signal and power integrity. Experience using simulation tools (PSPICE, Hyperlynx, or Equivalent) a plus. Proficiency in various lab tools (DVMs, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Optical Meters, Electronic Loads, Thermal chambers, Solder stations, and other tools). Strong communication (written and oral) and collaboration ability within a highly professional organization. Basic understanding of mechanical design fundamentals. Basic understanding of programming and firmware development.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
