Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home care and support to our Mother.
A lovely woman of 91, who looks years younger.
Dressing her, toileting, shower, moisturizing etc.
She wears Depends which need frequent changing.
Engage her mentally.
Talk to her.
Play music with her.
Daily pills, vitamins and supplements.
Blood pressure twice a day.
Do her laundry in the washer and dryer downstairs.
Walking her up and down the stairs 3 times daily.
Take her to occasional doctor appointments.
Our mother developed non-violent, even- tempered dementia.
She is often friendly and funny.
She can get confused sometimes.
Being a live-in position, we do not expect you to spend every moment with your patient.
After the essentials are taken care of, you will have plenty of time to yourself, including running personal errands.
Or getting out of the house for a while and doing what you wish to do.
It's a great neighborhood to take walks in.
After the essentials are done, the rest of the time is as needed, particularly if she goes to the bathroom late at night.
And changing her depends, after dinner and before bed.
Obviously, a position like this has to be a good two-way fit.
If you have elderly care and memory care experience, and have love in your heart, to make an old woman happy and keep her healthy, that is already a great start.
The pay range listed is dependent on whether you choose to work five days a week or seven days a week, which of course, will grow your bank account the quickest.
