Facility Maintenance Technician - Electrical

The PST Electronic Materials business unit located in Orangeburg, NY provides services to the semiconductor industry, flat panel display, LED and solar markets, where we deliver the materials needed to keep the world connected. Currently, we are looking for a full time Facility Maintenance Technician - Electrical
This individual will play a key role in our maintenance program and future growth plans. Coordinate and perform preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, corrective maintenance and installation of equipment, systems and facilities. The scope of which will include mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and electrical work.
Troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair a broad range of electrical and electronic systems and equipment using schematics, AC/DC systems, and PLC's.
Perform maintenance repairs including mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting.
Perform calibration and preventative maintenance of all equipment and process control devices and maintain documentation.
Oversees and/or performs new equipment installations
Makes needed repairs to facility.
Must accurately record information related to maintenance activities via the Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including the creation, editing, and closing of work orders.
Completes both routine and non-routine daily and weekly assignments.
Assesses own work and monitors progress against assigned goals.
Works under regular supervision, utilizing somewhat diversified procedures and standards non-standard decisions reviewed with immediate supervisor and/or Plant Manager.
Has some latitude for variations in sequences of, and within, procedures to deal with unusual or unanticipated aspects of required work.
Request support and work closely with vendors as necessary. Clearly communicate in a timely manner the status of work efforts and activities to responsible facility engineers and user groups (internal customers).
Researches availability of needed parts and prepares purchase
May provide advice to management regarding equipment life and usage and in researching new equipment purchases.
Interpret and maintain electrical schematics.
Drive plant control system upgrades.
Troubleshoot the following motor control equipment properly and safely: motor starters, run relays; Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs); Servo motors and controls.
Interface with and troubleshoot PLC's including: connecting to the PLC, reading ladder logic, programming, diagnosing hardware and software problems.
Utilizes hand and portable power tools and follows safe working practices through all steps of equipment repair and maintenance

High School education or equivalent
Technical School Electronics training or College Electronics training or 4 years equivalent Industrial and/or military electronics background.
Sound working knowledge of Electrical Safe Work Practices; AC and DC Electrical Theory; reading/creating electrical prints and control schematics; motor control; personal computer hardware and software; computer networks, Programmable Logic Controllers, industrial automation, photo eyes; proximity sensors; limit switches; breakers; fuses.
Knowledge of skilled trades
Preferred skills:
Knowledge of heat and humidity control systems; process control valves; pneumatic control systems; hydraulic control systems.
Knowledge of high production CNC's machines
Power supplies / Induction melting
Vacuum systems.

Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that often cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, making circuit analyses, tracing relationships in signal flow using complex test equipment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
