EHS Manager

Overview


The EHS Manager ? New York works with EHS professionals, general managers, operations managers, quality managers, and human resource managers at an aerospace manufacturing and repair and industrial gas turbine facility located in Orangeburg, New York to keep our employees safe, maintain compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and laws, and drive an atmosphere of continuous improvement to make the company the best in industry in these areas. The goal is to provide first class training, problem-solving, and become a value-added business leader contributing to the health and welfare of our co-workers, our community, and our company profits.



Responsibilities


  • Manage a staff of one (1) EHS professionals direct report, and one maintenance indirect report.
  • Lead and drive the implementation of EHS SOPs and Commitment To Safety Program.
  • Manage the sites EMIS ? Dakota Software
    • Accident Incident Investigation
    • Internal Auditing
    • Corrective Action Item tracking/completion
    • Program specific action item tracking/completion
  • Training, including development of training materials and conducting training as necessary to ensure facility compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, DHS, CDRH and DOT regulations including, but not limited to:
    • RCRA Large Quantity Generator waste management
    • SPCC
    • NYS DEC Air Permit
    • NYS DEC Stormwater Permit
  • Mentoring individual facility EHS professionals and management (as appropriate), especially during on-boarding and major site projects, incidents or activities.
  • Professional and leadership development of facility EHS professionals.
  • Evaluates impact of regulations and standards on site operations
  • Coordinates routine testing and monitoring as required
  • Spill and event contingency planning
  • Coordinates routine testing and monitoring of employees
  • Monitors program compliance and conducts audits for environmental, health and safety

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

?

Education:

  • University degree, preferably in engineering, chemistry, environmental or safety.
  • Preferred Professional certifications (PE, CIH, CSP, CHMM, OHSAS etc.)

Experience:

  • 5 -7 years of experience in progressive EHS roles in manufacturing, preferably within the Aerospace Industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in development and execution of EHS strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team of professionals, remotely, indirectly and x-cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Large Quantity Hazardous Waste programs
  • Up to date with latest EHS regulations and directives.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
